Going lunar with pregnancy
Shakespeare once wrote “O, swear not
by the moon, th' inconstant moon, that monthly changes in her circled orb, lest
that thy love prove likewise variable."
Well, the moon is certainly renowned with the changing tides and as
Shakespeare suggested, the swinging moods of love. But it is the same moon that
some women swear by when it comes to pinpointing ones fertility and hopes of
pregnancy.
The lunar calendar is an ancient
calendar that is calculated based on the cycles of the moon. Women long ago are
said to have used the lunar calendar to track their monthly period cycle and
find out when they are most ready to conceive. Perhaps you’ve never given much
thought about the moon other than howling werewolves and it being made of
cheese. Well, here’s another
interesting bit for you. Another
popular ancient calendar that engages the “mojo” of the moon is the Chinese
Lunar pregnancy calendar. It is
used by women who are planning for a baby and by mothers-to-be to predict the
gender of their baby. So does it
work? Well, you can also test its accuracy by trying it out,
especially if you already know the gender of your baby.
It is pure chance or is it for real?
You decide.
